FTX Patrol to Contact

With a focus on realism, this Field Training Exercise (FTX) focuses on the skills required to quickly engage and subdue a contact while on patrol. Teams will rehearse basic drills before being deployed into a square kilometer of woodland to find, fix, and finish opposition forces as quickly as possible. This FTX is designed for rapid learning. Post-engagement debriefs will highlight lessons learned and be put into practice immediately with the next patrol to contact. The overnight portion will allow teams to establish a defensive perimeter and maintain security from opposition forces.

**Attendance to one of the FTX Patrol to Contact courses is a prerequisite for Operation BOREAL RIFT**

EXPECTATIONS

• Be focused on personal development, the mission, looking for work to do 
• Be ready to execute missions by the event start time
• Be prepared for the weather with the correct clothing and motivation

TIMING REQUIREMENTS

• Be ready for missions by 0900 on your day of arrival. Arrive as early as required.

• Eyepro (Full Seal ANSI Z87.1 ONLY)
• Wrist Watch
• Notepad and Pencil/Pen
• Compass
• Flashlight
• Whistle
• Cellphone and/or UHF Radio

Personal Equipment Requirements

• Weapon, battery, ammunition
• Fighting equipment (rig, PC, etc)
• Clothing appropriate for the weather
• Outdoor sleeping equipment appropriate for the weather
• Food and water to support your needs for your one or two day involvement
• A backpack for storage of your food, water, clothing, and sleeping gear
